Self-compassion during hard time
Annually, about 115.000 people in the Netherlands are being diagnosed with cancer. A diagnosis that comes with lots of insecurities and emotions. “Especially in the busy periods right after the diagnosis, it is of the essence that the patients are getting support in dealing with all of the emotions and the insecurities that the diagnosis brings. We noticed a bit of help for the people that have been sick for a longer time period, but the support for right after the diagnosis is still missing, according to us.”, said Judith Austin, PhD candidate at the University of Twente for Emerce.
Emerce is a platform for decision makers operating at the intersection of digital marketing, media and business and the Emerce website reaches more than 350.000 visitors a month.
