Great news: Shapol Majid, one of our clients, has won the KNF jury prize at the Dutch Film Festival with her documentary Up To G-Cup.
Up To G-Cup at the Dutch Film Festival
Shapol Majid, a Kurdish-Iraqi woman from the Netherlands, opened the first lingerie store in her hometown Suleimaniyah in the Kurdish Autonomous Region of Iraq. The store serves as a meeting place for women in the region. Shapol Majid was filmed for two years as she worked. In the documentary Up To G-Cup, Shapol, her staff and the customers talk about their culture and what they experienced. The documentary premiered at the Dutch Film Festival and even won the KNF jury prize!
DTT was there, below we would like to share an impression:
The Hammurabi platform
Since early 2021, we have been working with Shapol Majid on the Hammurabi platform. The end goal of the platform is to make women more independent and empower them to be self-sufficient. The Hammurabi platform will achieve this end goal by teaching Iraqi women through an e-learning module more about making clothes, practicing marketing, how to use the internet and many more.
