Jim Movebooks: playful exercise classes a hit at nurseries
Digital movement books with exciting stories: a hit at nurseries.
Together with Friends Call Me Jim (FCMJ), we developed the Jim Movebooks app. Friends Call Me Jim is an interactive gym in Amsterdam where children develop motor as well as social-emotional skills through movement classes. These lessons feature dynamic characters, environments, and storylines to motivate and reward children in a playful way during their physical activities.
When the FCMJ location closed its doors in early 2020 due to the COVID-19 crisis, we joined forces with Friends Call Me Jim to create a business-to-business (B2B) version of the concept. The app enables caregivers to independently deliver ‘Friends Call Me Jim’ movement classes, for example at nurseries. Through a convenient online dashboard, the FCMJ team can manage licences that grant access to the app.
‘Jim’tastic results
Since November 2022, Friends Call Me Jim has partnered with Kindergarden, one of the largest nursery providers in the Netherlands. The Jim Movebooks app is now used in all 300+ Kindergarden locations across the country. “Movement is made fun, which is why we’ve introduced the programme in all our toddler groups,” says Annemarie Bosch, from the Development & Quality department.
